PONDEROSA ETC.

Once again we have "survived" another year of marriage and yesterday, July 28, celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary!  Exciting events continue to bless our clan:  Stephanie and Anthony's marriage in February and Alyssa and Hans' marriage in March brought us all together for a great time of celebration.

Sadly (for us) a few days after Stephanie's wedding, Bill's mother, Mimi, went home to be with the Lord.  I'm sure it was a glorious Homecoming for her!

And then, on July 25th, Kolton Robert Brannon became our newest family member!

Proud parents, Ashley and Kyle, and beaming big sister Bella, are excited to show off the new addition to their family.

Kolton Robert...meet big sister Bella.  It's only the beginning!

Another summer at camp in Colorado!

One of our most frequent visitors to the snack shop!

Activities abound as one of the youth groups climb to the top of True Mountain - one of the favorite hiking trails.  There was also...

...volleyball challenges and exciting games of gaga ball (a new game to us)...

learning to work together in group situations...

singing...

and great times of worship.  The week of activities for younger youth was called "Peak" while the week for older youth was referred to as "Summit".

On our annual trek to Pikes Peak, this funnel cloud at the top presented quite a bit of excitement!

Also on Pikes Peak, was this herd of big horn sheep calmly grazing even though the funnel cloud was only a few miles away.

One of the churches we visited was Redeemer Baptist Church in Aurora where Bobby's uncle is pastor.  He is the youngest brother of our good friend, Charlie Brannon.

"An apple a day...well, let's put it this way:  Nancy became good friends with this horse in a nearby pasture, by feeding him partially eaten apples from the dining hall.

Some of our favorite kids who work in the dining hall:  Hannah, Micah, July and Hosea Karr.  Hosea and July received their US citizenship earlier this year.  Micah is a junior in high school, and Hannah is a student at Oklahoma Baptist University.

And then the Black Forest fire...

Disaster relief volunteers came from several states to help families clean up from the fire.  The command center was located at the First Baptist Church of Black Forest where we attend church.

Disaster relief volunteers were identified by their yellow shirts.
