MAY HAPPENINGS

MOTHER'S DAY 2013

Mother's Day was celebrated in a somewhat different way this year -- at Lynx Lake in nearby Prescott.  Friday night we sat around a campfire and toasted marshmallows.

Jackets felt good as the night air dipped down to the 30's.

The colder it got the closer we edged toward the fire!

We burned one last sparkler left over from the wedding in March.

Saturday was a day of telling stories from the past.  No fire needed when the sun came up!

Chef Russ cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for the crew.  We also celebrated Father's Day and his birthday since we will not be here in June and August.

Bill, and Chris catching a few zzzzzzs.

My oh my, what would we do without our cell phones?  Hard to believe Serena turns 18 this month...

...and Bill turns...oh well...never mind!

Jenni and Bobby in a quiet mood; probably thinking about the fish in the nearby lake.

It must run in the family - Alyssa catching the zzzzzs this time, and Chris still snoozing!

MOTHERS GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN...
The legend of Johnny Appleseed says that Johnny wandered the countryside planting seeds for trees that he would never see. It makes us sad that all our mothers are not here to celebrate this special day with us, but we thank the Lord for these precious saints who planted many seeds which are continuing to produce fruit today.  In loving memory of:
Maxine Jakes - Mother of Russ
Lois Sutton - Mother of Nancy
Helen Brannon - Mother of Bobby
Virginia Matthews - Mother of Bill

OUR PRESENT MOMS..

Nancy: mother of Chris, Amy, Jenni and Rod

Chris: mother of Stephanie and Alyssa

Amy: mother of Kyle and Tiffany

Ashley: mother of Bella and the future Kolton
